Sue Cheveallier, the organizer of the non-profit Connecting for Our Kids, came to Not Rocket Science needing consulting advice on creating the online marketing framework for an event that would benefit three camps for Louisiana children. Connecting for Our Kids is made up of a group of individuals and organizations who joined together to support the camps. The camps include Camp I'm Still Me, Krewe de Camp, and Royal Family KIDS Camp. All are weeklong overnight camps and are provided at no cost, thanks to the work and dedication of volunteers and generous donors.
Camp I'm Still Me is administered by the Baton Rouge General Hospital Unit. This camp has operated for over 30 years and is a fun-filled, week for pediatric burn survivors where they can enjoy activities such as arts and crafts, swimming, fishing, sports, and more.
Krewe de Camp is a camp for children 6-18 years old with developmental disabilities at the scenic Fountainebleau State Park located in Mandeville. Campers enjoy various types of activities including dancing, swimming, arts and crafts, games, a talent show, and more.
Royal Family KIDS Camp is a worldwide camp for children in the foster care system with locations in 12 countries and 240 chapters across North America. The camps partner with local churches to provide advocacy and intervention programs for child victims of family-induced trauma.
The Connecting for Our Kids Craft and Art Sale is an event benefitting these camps on September 24, 2022 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm at the Castine Center in Mandeville.
Not Rocket Science was asked to create the Connecting For Our Kids website and developed a one-page, responsive design with photography that reflected the mission of the non-profit and colors that were complimentary to the organization's branding.
When Sue was asked why she chose Not Rocket Science, she stated the following: "I had a personal relationship in the business area with Not Rocket Science and became personally acquainted with Darron Goodgion (President of Not Rocket Science) and liked the way he worked and did business. Darron was asked to serve on the boards of two local non-profits, ACTIVE Partnership and New Heights Therapeutic Riding Center while I was director at each one. When he served on the boards, he also consulted in the social media area and his team built the websites. I continue to look to him for advice in this area."
Not Rocket Science is so grateful for the opportunity in creating the website for the Connecting For Our Kids Craft and Art Sale. For more information, please go to www.connectingforourkids.com.
